About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Inventory Control Manager to lead inventory accuracy, operational controls, and SOX‑aligned processes for our North American distribution network. Although based in Montreal, this role manages 2–3 direct reports responsible for overseeing inventory control activities across multiple U.S. 3PL warehouse locations. This position requires strong leadership capabilities, deep expertise in inventory governance, and proven experience operating within a SOX‑regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of 2–3 Inventory Control Specialists supporting four U.S. 3PL warehouses.
- Oversee workload planning, performance management, and escalation support.
- Ensure consistent execution of inventory control SOPs, controls, and best practices across all warehouse sites.
- Provide training and development to strengthen cross‑functional understanding of inventory processes and compliance expectations.
Inventory Accuracy & Operational Controls
- Own all inventory control activities for our 3PL locations in California, U.S.
- Oversee cycle counting, reconciliation, variance analysis, adjustments, and issue resolution.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls aligned with SOX requirements, including documentation standards, approval workflows, segregation of duties, and audit evidence retention.
- Monitor inbound/outbound transactions, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timely posting.
- Serve as business lead for inventory‑related Oracle issues, including raising and tracking escalation tickets.
SOX Compliance & Audit Support
- Ensure execution of SOX key controls related to inventory, including cycle count controls, transaction review, exception reporting, and month‑end validation procedures.
- Maintain audit‑ready documentation for all required controls.
- Support Internal Audit, External Audit, and SOX testing teams by preparing samples, documentation, walkthroughs, and explanations of control design and process flow.
- Strengthen process governance by identifying control gaps and recommending remediation or preventive actions.
3PL & Warehouse Management
- Partner with 3PL operators to ensure accuracy of receipts, picks, adjustments, damages, returns, and scrap transactions.
- Validate and approve inventory adjustments and investigate discrepancies.
- Monitor 3PL operational discipline to ensure compliance with SOPs, SLAs, and controls.
- Support regular business reviews and drive accountability for inventory performance and KPIs.
Systems, Reporting & Analytics
- Review daily and weekly inventory reports including transactional exceptions, negative balances, cost discrepancies, and reconciliation files.
- Drive timely corrective actions to prevent downstream financial impacts.
- Maintain data integrity across ERP and WMS systems, ensuring alignment with SOX and audit requirements.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly inventory performance metrics and dashboards using Oracle, Power BI, and other reporting tools.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with Finance, Demand Planning, Logistics, Operations, and Customer Service to resolve issues and support business priorities.
- Provide subject‑matter expertise during system upgrades, process redesigns, and new business initiatives.
- Support operational readiness for new product launches, network changes, and 3PL transitions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or a related field (preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in inventory control, supply chain operations, or warehouse management in a multi‑site environment.
- Prior experience managing direct reports in a performance‑driven environment.
- Strong proficiency with ERP and WMS platforms (Oracle, SAP, Manhattan, or comparable systems).
- Working knowledge of SOX requirements and inventory‑related key controls; experience supporting SOX audits is a strong asset.
- Strong understanding of reporting tools such as Power BI.
- Proven analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills within cross‑functional and external‑partner environments (English and French).
- Ability to manage competing priorities within a hybrid work model.
Employment Terms
- Hybrid schedule: 2–3 days onsite per week in Montreal.

- Occasional travel to U.S. warehouses may be required.
