The Paris Parts Distribution Centre (PDC) is one of three Canadian PDCs that receives and distributes thousands of automotive service parts to our dealers across Canada, and is an integral part of the Ford Motor Company organization. Additional Information

The role is primarily a 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM position, providing oversight for both the Day Shift (6:00 AM–2:30 PM) and the Afternoon Shift (2:30 PM–11:00 PM). However, the successful candidate must maintain flexibility to cover either shift as business needs dictate.

Responsibilities

What you’ll do...

  • Lead and manage unionized hourly personnel.
  • Basic administration of supervisory responsibilities and documents.
  • Coach Safety, Quality and Productivity to ensure objectives are met through following standardized work.
  • Create a conducive work environment for the team(s) to complete their assigned responsibilities / tasks.
  • Support Continuous Improvement and coach problem resolution to the lowest level.
  • Build Team Leader and Team Member capability.
  • Communication & recognition of salaried & hourly personnel.
  • Direct, mentor and train all supervisory staff.
  • Provide coverage for supervisor absences.
  • Foster a positive working relationship with Unifor local leadership.
  • Schedule manpower (including TPT, overtime and vacations).
  • Responsible for the daily material handling functions for the facility.
  • Partner with transportation organizations and carriers.
  • Ensure proper material flow from receiving dock, to warehouse storage location, to the delivery of parts to customers.
  • Provide direction and support in the allocation of resources in order to appropriately cover material handling responsibilities.
  • Ensure flawless flow of parts through proactive planning and cross-functional communication.
  • Effectively implement the Engineering Change Process.
  • Identify data gaps and take corrective actions.
  • Ensure overall organization and cleanliness of the facility.
Qualifications

You'll have...

Education
  • Post-Secondary Degree (Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of diploma/degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Operations, Transportation & Logistics, Supply Chain Management & Information Systems, Applied Engineering Science, Packaging Engineering, or Business Mgmt.
Experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of supervising unionized workforce in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge on SAP- EWM, MMP, SSP and other PS & L unique systems.
  • Experience with Partners in Customer Satisfaction (PICS) and Just in Time processing.
  • Experience in Safety and Material Planning & Logistics (MP&L).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Knowledge of constraint management principles.
  • Possess a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to interpret data, evaluate actions and reach logical conclusions independently.
  • Solid organizational and administrative skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Well Developed problem-solving and conflict management skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills.

The expected annual salary range for this position is $87,000–$137,000 and individuals may be eligible to participate in our Annual Compensation bonus program.
