Description

Cummins currently has a Hybrid Field service diesel technician position for our Distribution business in Lethbridge, Alberta. The work will be both in the field and in the shop.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways :

  • Establish and continually develops productive customer relations and ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.
  • Apply the use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete complex repairs at customer site.
  • Perform preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on engines and related components in the field.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to product specialists or supervisor.
  • Coach and develop technicians and / or apprentices and transfers knowledge and experience to others; may provide work direction; may review repair plans, parts lists, etc.
  • Complete required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens. Identifies additional sales and service opportunities with customer.
  • Complete training in line with skill and business requirements.
  • Maintain service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to site management and to their supervisor.

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following :

Qualifications
  • Education, Licenses, Certifications :
  • Heavy duty mechanic red seal certification is required for this position.
  • Valid local drivers license is required for this position.
  • A clean drivers abstract is required for this position.
  • Experience :
  • Significant field service work experience
  • Expert level knowledge of and / or experience with engine products
  • Customer service experience
  • Experience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians is an asset
  • High and low voltage experience is an asset for this role
  • About the role :
  • Cummins offers a 5000$ sign on bonus for this role
  • Working hours are 8am to 5pm Monday-Friday
  • Most of the work is engine work in the field with some in-shop work.
  • Servicing Medicine Hat, Lethbridge and Sparwood area.
  • Some traveling to be expected (accommodations provided)
  • Possibility to take the service vehicle home (some criteria will apply ex : distance)
  • Salary is $ hourly
