Overview

Proposal Engineer at Westpro Machinery, INC. This role is part of the Sales Team and focuses on developing competitive, technically sound proposals for mineral processing equipment.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop competitive, technically sound proposals that translate customer requirements into clear, accurate bids.
  • Work with Process Engineers, Sales Engineers, and external vendors to gather information for bid packages.
  • Prepare technical proposals for the supply of mineral processing equipment using mechanical engineering expertise.
  • Complete equipment data sheets and supporting documentation for bid packages.
  • Develop plant layouts and general arrangement drawings.
  • Prepare equipment cost estimates and contribute to competitive pricing strategies.
  • Coordinate with global manufacturing partners to evaluate costs and lead times.
  • Collaborate with vendors on equipment specifications and component selection.
  • Ensure proposal documentation meets internal standards and customer requirements.
  • Contribute to product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Sales teams; participate in shop visits, trade shows, and occasional site travel.
  • Support additional projects and tasks as required.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience with SolidWorks (2D & 3D) and working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Nice to Have
  • P.Eng designation.
  • Experience with mineral processing equipment or exposure to mining, aggregates, or wastewater industries.
