What’s the Team Like

The Cybersecurity & Architecture team protects the Calgary Airport Authority’s digital backbone, safeguarding networks, applications, and data that keep a 24/7 airport running. Working side‑by‑side with teams across the organization to identify vulnerabilities, strengthen defenses, and respond to emerging threats with disciplined processes and modern tools. It’s a dynamic, high‑impact environment where students contribute to meaningful security work while learning how cybersecurity operates in a real critical‑infrastructure setting. You’ll gain hands‑on exposure to risk assessment, control implementation, and incident response, seeing how security decisions protect people, operations, and reputation every day.

Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative and coordination support to the Cybersecurity team, including documentation, scheduling, and activity tracking.
  • Support internal and external service providers by organizing records, status updates, and supporting materials.
  • Maintain cybersecurity program documentation (procedures, reports, reference materials) to ensure accuracy and currency.
  • Track cybersecurity activities and deliverables, helping with program visibility, status reporting, and follow‑ups.
  • Assist with process improvements and information organization to strengthen program consistency and continuity.
  • Gain exposure to how security controls and programs protect airport systems in a live operational environment.
Qualifications
  • Enrolled in a post‑secondary program related to Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields that requires a work term as a formal component of the curriculum.
  • Must provide documentation confirming that the work term is an academic requirement.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a RAIC; the employer will help throughout the process.
