Overview
Rogers Bank, a subsidiary of Canada's leading wireless, cable and media company, is expanding and seeking a Credit Specialist to join the Bank Credit Risk team. The role involves developing and implementing innovative financial solutions and ensuring sound credit-granting practices in compliance with Bank policies.
What You'll Do
- Underwrite credit applications or requests and credit limit increases that exceed thresholds by reviewing customer credit history, credit utilization, and ability to pay (capacity).
- Utilize credit risk assessment data sources and tools (credit bureau reports, bank and trade references, budgetary information) and proactively request additional documentation as needed.
- Monitor and validate the work of outsourced service providers handling new applications and credit limit increases, ensuring SLAs are met and escalations follow procedures.
- Assist with review of certain application queues as needed.
- Perform periodic reviews on high-exposure individual clients.
- Assess potentially fraudulent or non-compliant accounts and coordinate with other Bank departments.
- Assist in developing and documenting operational process flows, balancing and audit functions, and standard operating procedures.
- Contribute to improvements in acquisition strategies, line management, and credit policies; recommend process streamlining to enhance customer experience.
- Share responsibility for achieving key portfolio performance metrics and ensure compliance with Privacy, AML, and other regulations.
- Keep department management informed of issues or developments affecting program risk.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
- Minimum 3-5 years of credit industry experience.
- Experience with TSYS TS2 and ADM is preferred.
- Experience in retail/credit card underwriting is preferred.
- Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational and time management skills and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Recruitment and Employment Details
