Qualifications:

Alstom is seeking a passionate and experienced Tax Manager in Canada. In this key role, you will be responsible for bids & projects, transfer pricing monitoring and overall business support. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of challenging tax matters, collaborate with various stakeholders, and contribute to the success of a dynamic and growing organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bids & Projects:
    • Provide and implement tax advice for tax optimized structures in bids and continuing project execution.
    • Advice on Canadian tax implications on domestic & cross-border transactions such as indirect taxes, corporate income tax, transfer pricing, withholding tax, permanent establishment, etc.
    • Advice all reporting units on Transfer Pricing (TP) in accordance to Alstom TP Policy (including projects monitoring).
  • Tax Reporting, Tax Compliance & Tax Audits:
    • Manage Alstom tax reporting with Finance support.
    • Manage all Canadian tax compliance (including TP documentation, Pillar 2 and R&D claims).
    • Manage all tax audits strategies and activities, related to international tax, withholding tax, domestic, sales tax, government incentives (like R&D tax credits), etc.
  • Business & Operational Tax Support:
    • Provide comprehensive tax support to business units on a variety of tax matters.
    • Contribute to the continuous improvement of tax processes and systems within the organization.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including tax authorities,Finance, Treasury, Legal, Procurement, etc.
    • Stay up-to-date on changes in tax legislation and regulations, and assess their potential impacts on Alstom's operations.

Qualifications:

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) is required.
  • In-depth tax specialization (CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course or Masters in Taxation) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in international & corporate tax.
  • Proficient with Tax tools and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with SAP is an asset.
  • Bilingual (French and English).
