Co-op Student, Technology Analyst

The Business Management and End User Services department of WorkSafeBC is looking for a highly motivated, dynamic, innovative Co-op Student, Technology Analyst to join our team to help us strive towards our vision.

Overview

Business Management and End User Services department in the Innovation, Technology and Analytics (ITA) Division of WorkSafeBC provides a full complement of technology support, from support services, technology provisioning, technology enablement, and service management. Our focus is always on our end-users and prioritizing the client experience.

This is an 8-month temporary opportunity beginning in May 2026.

Where you'll work

At WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines working remotely, and in our offices based on the operational needs of the position.

Onboarding and First Day

On Day 1 in this role, you will get a chance to meet your manager and get acquainted with your team. You will spend time setting up administrative and technological essentials, and completing onboarding tasks, including security and payroll setup.

During your first week you will engage in a comprehensive onboarding program designed to equip you for success. You will be partnering and meeting with your manager to discuss your goals and align them with the team's vision. Additionally, you will learn how our department contributes to the overall business strategy and supports the organization's mandate. You will also work through the onboarding program alongside your supervisor for added guidance and support.

Candidate Profile

This role is ideal for an individual who is eager to step beyond their comfort zone. We are looking for someone with a detective mindset, strong motivation, and a passion for innovation. The right candidate will possess analytical and critical thinking skills, enabling them to propose ideas that enhance various processes and initiatives, as well as to explore new approaches to work within the department.

Daily Responsibilities
  • Participate in requirements gathering sessions to understand business needs
  • Research various technology products and applications
  • Support continuous improvement activities that expand and enhance the use of end user technology platform capabilities across the organization
  • Previous tutoring or teaching experience is preferred
Key Skills
  • Speak to mid and/or large audiences on end-user technology
  • Think strategically when reviewing business needs
  • Analyze and demonstrate critical thinking to understand business processes at an enterprise level
  • Demonstrate self-motivation by creating and executing plans
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with team members
Background and Experience
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program and majoring in either, Business or Cognitive Science or Arts
  • Demonstrated interest or aptitude in technology is required, including generative AI tools
  • Previous co-op or relevant work experience in an office environment is preferred
  • Previous research or analyst experience is preferred

  • Confirm you're legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Confirm you're a registered student at a post-secondary institution and is participating in a work integrated learning program
