Overview

Position Location: 800 McTavish Avenue; in-office position, 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday

Child and Family Services of Western Manitoba is accepting applications for a full-time Clerk Typist II position; this term position will commence as soon as possible and will conclude by April 9, 2027. The position may expire sooner than April 2027, subject to a minimum two-week notice period. The successful applicant must have excellent spelling, grammar, and computer skills, as the primary responsibility of this position is to provide clerical support to assigned professional staff, including Social Workers. Key duties include, but are not limited to: word processing, learning and proficiently using the Child and Family Services Information System (CFSIS) and Intake Module (IM) software, photocopying, scanning, filing, and managing mail and courier responsibilities. Additionally, the successful applicant will provide Reception coverage, consistently demonstrating a friendly and professional demeanor while greeting visitors in a fast-paced environment. Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, with a one-hour unpaid lunch break, which equals 35-hours per week. Wage will be on the CT2 salary scale, which starts at $21.35 per hour. This position is subject to a six-month probationary period; upon successful completion of the probationary period, the successful applicant will be eligible to join the Agency\'s benefits and pension plans due to the longer length of this term position.

Qualifications
  • Graduation from a recognized business program with applicable work experience; a two-year administrative/clerical-related program is preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, CFSIS, and the Intake Module software.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.

Additional Information
  • Successful completion of a Child Abuse Registry Check, Criminal Records Check (including vulnerable sector), Prior Contact Check, and a Driver\'s Abstract Check is required. The successful candidate will be responsible for any services charges incurred for the Criminal Record Check; the Agency will pay for the other three security checks.
