Job Purpose

Alstom is seeking a full-time Civil Engineer to serve as the site authority on drainage systems and track infrastructure to support Stage 2 track infrastructure inquiries for the Ottawa Light Rail Transit (LRT) project. This role is critical in identifying and documenting divergences between the constructed infrastructure and contractual obligations, ensuring Alstom is compensated for design changes or construction non-conformities that impact maintenance responsibilities.

With a focus on drainage and track systems, this position has the potential to uncover compensable divergences, directly contributing to project profitability and operational risk mitigation.

Your future role

  • Act as the site authority on drainage topics, providing technical expertise and oversight.
  • Analyze Stage 2 track and drainage infrastructure for compliance with contract specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Identify, document, and submit divergence claims related to design changes or construction non-conformities.
  • Respond to technical submittals and inquiries from the customer and infrastructure constructor.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documentation to assess impacts on Alstom’s maintenance scope.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering, legal, and commercial teams to validate and support divergence submissions.
  • Interpret and apply contract language and regulatory frameworks to support claims.
  • Maintain organized records of findings, correspondence, and supporting documentation.
  • Contribute to monthly reporting and forecasting of divergence-related revenue.
