We are currently looking for a Senior Buyer to join our team in Mississauga, ON.
This role will be responsible for contract negotiations, sourcing, pricing and cost reduction activities for a group of progressively complex commodities. This role will be responsible for strategic sourcing of indirect goods and services within spend categories such asMarketing, Media, Digital Advertising, Print, Events, Financial Services and related scopes.The individual will need to work closely with business areas to identify sourcing needs and opportunities for each category. The individual in this position is responsible for evaluating potential suppliers, issuing purchase orders, managing contracts, tracking compliance and measuring supplier performance. Prepares professional presentations and leads meetings as required.
A Day in the Life:
Engages with business partners of the assigned commodities to establish understanding of the commodities and requirements to develop strategic sourcing plans and manage sourcing activities.
Negotiates for goods and services, with the support of internal departments, ensuring alignment with Nissan’s policies, business specifications and quality for the best value are met.
Establishes contracts for assigned commodities; maintains purchase orders and related purchasing records; maintains files and records of current and potential suppliers, materials and prices. Negotiates contracts with the support of internal departments to ensure compliance.
Updates databases and other records related to Purchasing functions to accurately report statuses for assignment activities. Analyzes progress toward departmental goals and initiates mitigation action(s) as needed to ensure that goals and deadlines are met.
Communicates with global counterparts to facilitate alignment of purchasing activities. Prepares presentations and reports to present to Executive Team’s when required.
Engages in supplier performance and relationship management exercises driving overall value from contracts.
Who We’re Looking for:
University degree or College Diploma required. (Preferably in the field of Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance)
Minimum of 5 years of related purchasing or supply management experience at a professional level.
Broad-based sourcing experience with multiple categories of indirect goods and services. Category knowledge in one or more areas of Marketing, Media, Digital Advertising, Print, Events or Financial Services is an asset.
Strong understanding of strategic sourcing and cost reduction, including budget analysis, quote analysis, benchmarking, and negotiation. Knowledge of the automotive industry is preferred.
Strong communication skills, business acumen, attention to detail, problem solving and the ability to engage and adapt in a fast-paced work environment is essential. Comfort with presenting to executive teams is required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. An ability to learn and utilize other computer applications as necessary. (SAP, Zycus, Tableau experience an asset)
