About the Role

The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the materials and supplies that support Roma’s production and overall operations. You will ensure optimal inventory levels, maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, and contribute to cost-saving initiatives. This role is vital to ensuring that production has what it needs to run smoothly and efficiently.

You will work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and Production to keep the supply chain flowing and support Roma’s growth.

What You Will Own
  • Supplier Sourcing and Management: Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability. Build and maintain strong vendor relationships.
  • Purchasing Execution: Issue purchase orders, track delivery timelines, and ensure materials arrive on schedule.
  • Inventory Monitoring: Work closely with Inventory and Operations teams to maintain appropriate stock levels and prevent stockouts or excess inventory.
  • Forecast Review: Analyze demand forecasts, sales trends, and consumption patterns to determine purchasing needs.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to maximize value and reduce costs.
  • Data and Documentation: Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier details, and product information.
  • Issue Resolution: Address supplier issues such as delays, shortages, or quality matters with urgency and professionalism.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor market trends, cost fluctuations, and supplier performance to support purchasing strategy.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Finance, Production, and Logistics to ensure smooth workflow and accurate invoice reconciliation.
  • Process Improvement: Support the development and refinement of procurement processes and SOPs.
  • Supplier Evaluation: Review new suppliers, materials, and products that may enhance quality or reduce cost.
  • Inventory Review: Evaluate slow-moving or obsolete inventory and recommend corrective action.
  • Additional Tasks: Complete tasks as assigned by the Director of Operations.

  • Stockouts and supply disruptions are minimized due to proactive planning.
  • You consistently negotiate favorable terms that support cost control and organizational value.
  • You have contributed improvements to purchasing processes and data accuracy.
  • Supplier performance metrics are tracked and used to strengthen procurement decisions.
