As a Bilingual Physiotherapist, you will assess and determine patient care needs and eligibility, provide access and referrals to community services, and engage with patients, caregivers and other health care practitioners. Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide physiotherapy services to ONTARIO HEALTH ATHOME Champlain patients through initial assessment, identification of problems, establishment of goals and treatment plans, implementation of physiotherapy treatment, follow-up and management of patient’s condition.
  • Establish priorities and treatment goals with respect to identified problems and develop methods of achieving these goals.
  • Ensure that clinical records are maintained in accordance with ONTARIO HEALTH ATHOME Champlain Policies and Procedures and the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
  • Schedule patient visits according to physiotherapy priorities.
  • Function as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and maintain liaison with other health care professionals.
  • Act as an education and resource person for other health care professionals.
  • Participate in committees as approved and partake in professional development activities; maintain knowledge and ability in the realm of physiotherapy.
  • Maintain supplies and recommend equipment for department use within budget limitations.
  • Interpret the role and objectives of the ONTARIO HEALTH ATHOME Champlain Physiotherapy Program in the community.

Hours of work: 8:30am-4:30pm – Monday to Friday

Starting Salary: $44,480 to $51,340

What must you have?
  • Degree or diploma in Physiotherapy and current certificate of registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
  • Related professional experience which would normally be attained over a period of two years in a Physiotherapy role
  • Related experience in a similar community-based setting is an asset
  • Current CPR-C certificate
  • We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy. As a condition of employment, all employees are required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination status prior to start date.

Skills and Abilities: Effective planning and organizing skills to manage multiple patients, provide information reports, and take corrective action as required; ability to accurately complete required documentation, reports, forms, and recommendations; working knowledge of computer software (email, internet) and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.); strong interpersonal skills to work with diverse patient groups with varying levels of comprehension and language capability; strong ability to manage difficult conversations/situations in a healthy and effective manner; demonstrated ability to work effectively in both a team environment and independently; effective communication skills to establish and maintain a wide range of contacts with professionals and organizations within the community; demonstrated strong customer service skills; effective listening and strong facilitation skills to work with patients and their families/caregivers/SDMs to ensure best possible service; ability to deliver information effectively in a variety of settings including one-on-one, team meetings, and to assist in delivering presentations/information regarding the ONTARIO HEALTH ATHOME Champlain Physiotherapy program; a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required.

  • Fluency in English and French is required.
