Job summary

A Toronto-based boutique litigation firm is seeking an Associate Lawyer to manage and advocate in various civil defence cases. Responsibilities include conducting legal research, drafting documents, representing clients in court, and negotiating settlements. Ideal candidates will have strong advocacy skills, excellent communication abilities, and a Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Experience in civil defence litigation is a plus. This is a full-time, on-site position in Toronto.

Qualifications

  • Experience in civil defence litigation, especially in professional liability, casualty claims, and defamation cases is a plus.
  • Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario is required.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Associate Lawyer located in Toronto, ON. The Associate Lawyer will be responsible for managing and advocating in a variety of civil defence cases, conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, and providing legal advice to clients. The role also involves representing clients in court, negotiating settlements, and collaborating with senior counsel and other team members to develop case strategies.
