Overview

The Department of Management at the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) invites applications for a full-time tenure stream position in Accounting. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026.

Responsibilities and Requirements

Applicants must have a completed PhD in Accounting or closely related area at the time of application. Candidates from all areas of Accounting are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate is expected to pursue innovative and independent research, establish an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research program, and contribute to high-quality teaching.

Demonstrated mastery of research methods (theory, empirical, or experimental) and a record of excellence in teaching and research are required. Evidence of research excellence may include publications in top-ranked journals, forthcoming publications, conference presentations, awards, editorial activities, and strong referee endorsements. Teaching excellence will be demonstrated through a teaching dossier, including a teaching statement, sample course materials, and teaching evaluations or equivalent evidence.

The successful candidate will be cross-appointed to the Accounting Area of the Rotman School of Management and will interact with faculty and graduate students across UT Mississauga and the Rotman School of Management. They will participate in programs including PhD, BCom, BBA, and HBA (Management).
