Position Title: Assembler

The Opportunity

Assembles a variety of products using proficient manual skills and hand tools.

Responsibilities
  • Must be able to work consistently in a safe and efficient manner with a variety of products, various components, to finish products for sales to customers.
  • Positions parts according to knowledge of unit being assembled and/or must be able to read and understand a work order, blueprint and tape measure and tailor assembly accordingly to varying specifications.
  • Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners, using hand tools and portable power tools.
  • May remove small quantities of metal with hand files and scrapers to produce close fit between parts.
  • May perform assembly as specialist in one area or rotated to other areas where customer or shop demands dictate.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one situations, to supervisors and to co‑workers of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Interpret blueprints and read tape measures.
