Overview

Our client in the Moncton region is seeking an accounting technician. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented and organized professional to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting knowledge, excellent time management skills, and the ability to manage day-to-day financial operations with accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

  • Verify, code, and enter supplier invoices.
  • Prepare payments (cheques, electronic transfers, etc.).
  • Track payment deadlines and manage supplier relationships.
  • Ensure invoices match purchase orders and receipts.
  • Process employee travel expense claims.

Accounts Receivable

  • Issue invoices to clients based on agreements or services rendered. (ON-NB)
  • Follow up on customer accounts and perform collections as needed.
  • Apply received payments to the correct accounts.
  • Collaborate with the sales department.

General accounting and other tasks

  • Post accounting entries in the financial system.
  • Participate in month-end closing (adjusting entries, accruals, etc.).
  • Contribute to the improvement of accounting processes.
  • Write accounting procedures.
  • Support the team during audits or external reviews.
  • Maintain up-to-date supplier and customer records.
  • Perform other tasks as deemed relevant by management.
Qualifications

College diploma (DEC) in accounting or a related field.

Minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (intermediate Excel required).

English spoken and written, with functional French (an asset).

Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics (an asset).

Knowledge of Concur software (an asset).

Attention to detail, thoroughness, autonomy, and strong organizational skills.

Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.

Team-oriented and collaborative mindset.
