The Role

As an Accounting Clerk, you will perform accounting-related tasks utilizing knowledge of the entire accounting cycle. Your duties may include accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash handling and account/bank reconciliations completed in a computerized financial system.

You will receive source documents, verify for compliance and enter in the book of accounts. You will calculate, verify, prepare and issue financial documents and/or reports while ensuring accuracy and integrity.

This is a hands-on role, requiring the ability to efficiently manage tasks with defined priorities and fixed monthly deadlines. Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Excel, customer service skills and an aptitude to learn are important.

Qualifications

Education, Certifications and Licenses

  • College diploma or certificate in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, AND some years of experience in accounting, or in a related field
  • (OR High school diploma AND several years of experience in accounting)

  • In accounting
  • In data entry, data manipulation, record-keeping and retrieval techniques
  • In drafting correspondence and reports
  • In office administration
  • In providing customer service
  • In maintaining electronic and manual filing systems

Language Requirements

  • English Essential / Bilingual (English and French) an asset
