A software development company is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to work remotely in Brazil and US time zones. You will oversee the development of a next-generation platform for fertility clinics, utilizing Next.js and Node.js. The ideal candidate has strong experience with PostgreSQL, third-party API integrations, and a solid understanding of both frontend and backend processes. Senior Full Stack Software Engineer Location : Remote — Brazil / US time zones (EST ±3h) • Contract : International contractor, $35 / hour • Language : English (fluent) • Reports to : CTO & Engineering team.
Volatus is hiring a Senior Fullstack Engineer to own critical product work on a next‑generation platform for fertility clinics and their patients. You will join as a founding engineer, shaping both the product and the technical direction in a category where better software directly improves patient outcomes.
You will work in a modern, greenfield stack centered on :
Frontend : Next.js / React , Typescript , Tailwind CSS
Backend : Node.js / TypeScript with a PostgreSQL core (schema design, authN,authZ, performance, transactions, triggers).
Data & integrations : Third-party API integrations ; performance profiling (e.g., Lighthouse).
Quality : Unit, integration, and end-to-end tests; CI / CD .
Collaboration : Work closely with our Head of Engineering, Principal Engineer, Product Designer, and CEO.
Build and ship end‑to‑end features across the Next.js frontend and Node / TypeScript backend.
Model and tune Postgres schemas; ensure secure authN / authZ and strong performance.
Integrate external APIs and improve app reliability and speed (including Lighthouse‑driven improvements).
Write reliable tests (unit / integration / e2e) and contribute to CI / CD workflows.
Make pragmatic early‑stage architectural decisions and raise the engineering bar.
Proficiency with AI tools to accelerate development and quality.
Strong production experience with Next.js / React, Node.js, and TypeScript.
Tailwind & CSS mastery; responsive, accessible UI.
PostgreSQL expertise (modeling, security / auth, performance, transactions, triggers).
Integrations experience (third‑party APIs) and solid testing practice (unit / integration / e2e).
Portfolio or links to shipped projects / code.
Lead at least one significant feature from design to production, used by real clinics or internal teams.
Improve a key part of the frontend experience (e.g., performance, usability, or design consistency) and document the standards for others.
Own part of the backend or data model, including at least one meaningful performance or reliability improvement.
Help define or refine testing and deployment practices so the team can ship faster and with more confidence.
Experience building voice‑controlled components / speech‑to‑text.
Experience interacting with AI models from the web app.
Remote within EST ±3 hours preferred ; open to other time zones if you can collaborate on US‑friendly hours.
Product‑led culture : engineers are closely involved in discovery, tradeoff discussions, and shaping the roadmap.
