Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled and hands-on Senior Electronics Lab Technician to take a leading role in managing our electronics lab and supporting the development and manufacturing of advanced drone systems. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in aviation electronics, PCB assembly, and harness fabrication, particularly within the drone or robotics industry.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee day-to-day operations of the electronics lab, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, ESD guidelines, and IPC/ISO standards.
• Lead the fabrication of wire harnesses, precision PCB assembly, and system-level electronics integration.
• Support engineering teams with electronics testing, validation, troubleshooting, and prototyping.
• Maintain lab equipment, manage inventory, and ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams and coordinate with external vendors and contractors.
• Mentor junior technicians and foster a culture of quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement within the lab.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Diploma or B.Sc. in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in an electronics lab, with expertise in PCB soldering and cable harness assembly.
• Proven experience in aviation or drone electronics, including avionics integration and system-level testing, is a strong advantage.
• Background in robotics, aerospace, or related high-tech industries is preferred.
• Proficiency with lab instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies.
• Industry certifications such as IPC-A-610 (PCB assembly), IPC/WHMA-A-620 (cable harnessing), and IPC J-STD-001 (soldering) are required.
• Demonstrated experience in establishing lab processes, documentation control, and adherence to quality management systems.
• Solid understanding of ESD protection practices and cleanroom/lab maintenance standards.
• Familiarity with CAD and design tools for reviewing PCB layouts and electrical harness drawings (e.g., Altium Designer, SolidWorks, or equivalent).
