The Civil Engineer will oversee and manage the civil construction activities of swimming pools and associated water features, ensuring quality, safety, and timely project delivery. The candidate will coordinate with site teams, MEP engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure that all civil works are executed in compliance with drawings, specifications, and applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning & Execution
- Review project drawings, BOQs, and specifications for civil works.
- Plan daily site activities and ensure civil tasks are aligned with project timelines.
- Monitor excavation, leveling, concrete works, blockworks, tiling, waterproofing, and finishing works.
2. Site Supervision
- Supervise and guide site workers, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Ensure that the work is performed as per design, method statements, and safety protocols.
- Coordinate closely with MEP team for integration of services (pipes, drains, lights, fittings).
3. Quality & Safety Compliance
- Enforce quality control standards and ensure that all works comply with local authority regulations (ADM/ADQCC).
- Conduct inspections and testing (slump test, cube test, waterproofing inspection, etc.).
- Maintain safety standards and issue corrective actions where needed.
4. Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare daily site progress reports, material inspection requests (MIR), and work inspection requests (WIR).
- Maintain as-built drawings and project documentation.
- Raise RFIs (Request for Information) and coordinate design clarifications with consultants.
5. Procurement & Coordination
- Identify required materials and follow up with the procurement department for timely delivery.
- Evaluate vendor quotations and assist in civil material selection.
- Attend progress meetings with clients, consultants, and internal team.
6. Cost & Resource Management
- Ensure optimal use of labor, materials, and equipment.
- Assist in quantity take-off, invoicing, and variation claims for civil works.
Desired Candidate Profile
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
- 3–5 years experience in swimming pool or landscape construction (UAE experience preferred).
- Knowledge of waterproofing, reinforced concrete, and pool finishes.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, MS Project/Primavera, and site inspection procedures.
- Strong communication and team coordination skills.
