Job Purpose
dnata is one of the world's largest air services providers, offering ground handling, cargo, travel, and flight catering services across five continents. We operate in 38 countries and 136 airports globally.
To provide support to Technicians and assist in scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance, servicing, fault finding, and repair on equipment, vehicles, and plant maintained by dnata Technical Services Workshops. This includes housekeeping and ad hoc tasks as assigned.
In This Role You Will
- Plan individual tasks daily within your area of work.
- Maintain good housekeeping in the workshop and other work areas; take proper care of tools.
- Assist in diagnosing and repairing faults/defects on equipment/vehicles and plant under breakdown, minimizing downtime.
- Record all work-related activities during shifts in the logbook or work order system to aid planning and maintenance management.
- Follow standard safety procedures during maintenance activities to prevent injuries or damage.
- Inform Maintenance Technicians/Senior Maintenance Technicians of needed spare parts and tools for timely completion of maintenance.
- Assist in scheduled maintenance according to standards, manufacturer recommendations, ISO, safety, and legal requirements to ensure reliable and optimal equipment utilization.
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment/vehicles and plant for operational reliability and safety, aiding in planning corrective maintenance and accident prevention.
- Execute tasks related to ULD Repairs/Assembly as per MOE procedures, manufacturer recommendations, and safety standards.
- Assist maintenance technicians in maintaining and repairing facility equipment, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Help maintain and repair Ground Power Units (GPU), Preconditioned Air (PCA), and generators.
Qualifications
- 2-year trade certificate in engineering or related field.
- Experience in maintenance—facilities, auto, electrical, civil mechanics—in a large organization, ideally in aviation ground support or cargo handling.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronic, automobile, air-conditioning, and refrigeration systems of light vehicles or material handling equipment. Experience in maintenance of Ground Support Equipment or heavy vehicles is an advantage.
- Specialized training in hydraulics, lifting equipment, conveyor systems, PLCs, motor control systems, traction batteries, and chargers is advantageous.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- UAE or home country driving license (not required in cargo areas).
- Valid license for operating equipment (ADP) (not required in cargo areas).
- Good understanding of MOE, EASA, GCAA regulations, and safety standards related to ULD.
- Workshop experience (applicable only for ULD section).
