Job Description:

Responsibilities may vary depending on the focus of the Elder Management Team. The following checklist is a comprehensive itemization of what would typically be related to the position of Caregiver at Manzil Healthcare Providers. The actual scope of responsibilities will be determined by the Supervisor of Operations in conjunction with the Charge Nurses and Managers.

1. Assists clients by providing personal services, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
2. Assists nurses in the manual handling of patients and with bathing.
3. Under the supervision of nurses and therapists, engages with children where appropriate.
4. Keeps a safe, secure, and healthy environment by ensuring the area is clean.
5. Supports the nursing staff by performing duties where appropriate.
6. Responsible for ensuring areas are stocked with appropriate materials.
7. Assists individuals and nurses on external trips.
8. Takes part in the individual's social activities.

Skills and Abilities:

1. Able to assess patients' needs and report to the nurse.
2. Able to assist with all activities of daily living.
3. Able to prioritize own workload.
4. Self-motivated.
5. Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in English.
6. Able to work without supervision.

Requirements:

Diploma in a relevant field or Caregiver training program or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
