Job Description: Air Freight Manager
To manage the air freight team’s daily operations, including the allocation of top revenue clients based on their profiles and shipping requirements. Ensure the development, implementation, and enhancement of air freight forwarding operational procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Liaise proactively with clients regarding our services and products.
- Seek extended business opportunities from existing clients and referrals.
- Represent the company at functions, client meetings, etc.
- Monitor daily status reports to clients with current shipment information.
Developing the Air Freight Product
- Support customer-specific solutions development for the Air Product.
- Create solutions addressing supply chain needs, focusing on increasing efficiencies, reducing lead times, and lowering costs.
Sales Support and Guidance
- Align Air Product objectives with sales targets to support the Air Freight business line.
- Act as a product expert for customers and guide the sales team in matching solutions to destinations.
Pricing and Tenders
- Define pricing strategies aligned with global policies.
- Handle RFQ pricing and support local pricing activities in coordination with regional desks.
Procurement
- Implement air strategy and manage procurement in the gateway.
- Identify procurement leverage across the UAE and support regional relationships with preferred partners.
Operations
- Oversee regional gateways, focusing on consolidation, cost optimization, and service quality.
- Guide system usage and training needs.
- Ensure team compliance with company policies.
- Develop relations with overseas offices.
- Develop methods to achieve business objectives with optimal ROI.
- Conduct regular service calls/visits with customers as per KPIs.
- Develop and report on client KPIs monthly/quarterly.
- Send all job reports to management monthly.
Knowledge & Experience
- High computer literacy.
- 5-8 years of experience in freight forwarding and air freight.
