My client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join their dynamic finance team in Dubai. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and providing support in the preparation of financial reports. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with a deep understanding of financial management practices, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

Your new role

• Prepare, examine, and analyse financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Manage general ledger entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
• Reconcile bank statements, intercompany transactions, and balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
• Review and ensure compliance with UAE VAT and other tax regulations.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights into financial performance.
• Support internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Monitor and evaluate financial processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices.
• Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records in accordance with company policies.
• Mentor and train junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insight and advice on operational matters.

What you'll need to succeed

• 3 - 5 years experience in a similar role
• Experience in VAT
• Experience working with an ERP system (SAP preferred)
• Confident
