Responsibilities for Internal Candidates

Roles and responsibilities include:

  • Deliver inspiring lessons to help students succeed and achieve the best outcomes.
  • Plan, develop, and implement lessons and provisions, especially for students of determination, to optimize academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Foster teamwork and collaboration.
  • Communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Develop positive relationships within the school community.
  • Work with colleagues to plan engaging lessons meeting curriculum requirements.
  • Coordinate with curriculum support staff to support student development.

Teaching and Learning:

  • Understand the curriculum thoroughly.
  • Organize classroom resources and create displays to promote an engaging learning environment.
  • Plan and deliver sessions catering to diverse abilities, including students of determination, gifted and talented, and EAL learners.
  • Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative teaching.
  • Observe and assess children in line with school assessments.
  • Reflect on classroom practices and adjust accordingly.
  • Collaborate with specialists like speech therapists, occupational therapists, and psychologists when needed.
  • Participate in professional development activities.

Assessment and Data:

  • Monitor and support the progress of the class.
  • Use assessment data to inform planning and interventions.
  • Provide feedback to parents and carers during meetings.

Behavior Management and Duties:

  • Follow the school's behavior policy.
  • Manage classrooms effectively, inspiring and motivating students.
  • Maintain good relationships and exercise appropriate authority.
  • Model positive attitudes and behaviors.
  • Set high expectations for behavior, promoting self-control and independence.

Wider Professional Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to curriculum planning and school events.
  • Support school outings and activities, including weekends and evenings.
  • Communicate effectively with parents using school systems like CPOMS.
  • Contribute positively to the school community.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related subject with PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.

Minimum Experience:

  • 1-2 years of teaching experience.
