Job description
About the Role:

Grade Level (for internal use): 11

The Team:

The Global Insight (GI) group within S&P Global's Market Intelligence division supports clients across all government and private sectors with data and research on macroeconomics markets, trade, supply chains, geopolitics and operational risk. GI's services consist of subscriptions to data/analysis products and consulting. This role is within the consulting team which designs and delivers custom analytical solutions for client requirements not met by subscription products. These custom solutions typically integrate datasets, deploy specialized models and develop new approaches to deliver unique insights that support clients in their strategic decisions. Unlike most major consultancies that rely on large teams our team leverages an unparalleled breadth of data, research expertise and models to solve client problems and support planning and decision‑making. Our proprietary assets are the result of decades of development and proven value. Our team members are expected to work across various functions including analysis and modeling, solution design, project management and technical development, coordinating with a diverse group of subject‑matter experts.

We value collaboration above all else and pride ourselves on being a friendly and welcoming team that fosters a culture where colleagues can develop new skills and grow their careers. Creativity is key: we solve our clients' problems efficiently within set budgets and to exacting standards. Curiosity is essential: the range of assets available to us means our team routinely discovers new capabilities and continuously enhances solutions for clients many of whom we have worked with for decades. Flexibility is crucial: work intensifies as we approach clients' deadlines and we often manage several projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities and Impact:
  • Lead econometric modeling and forecasting activities, including data gathering, cleaning and validation.
  • Conduct desk‑based research on policy and regulatory developments, political and security dynamics and stakeholder mapping around new projects and investments.
  • Identify and qualify external data needs, integrating these into our data and models, including comprehensive macroeconomic simulations and custom benchmarks.
  • Provide technical leadership in analysis and reporting of insights, tailoring support to clients' needs and expectations.
  • Collaborate with senior colleagues to design technical approaches to client problems and communicate these approaches clearly both internally and externally.
  • Present project findings, capabilities and methodologies to senior personnel, including government ministers and C‑suite executives.
  • Oversee project management, coordinating across internal teams to ensure deliverables are correctly sequenced and executed.
What We Are Looking For:
Basic Required Qualifications:
  • Masters‑level education in Economics, Econometrics, Statistics or related fields. Comprehensive understanding of macroeconomics, microeconomics, trade, commerce and geopolitics.
  • Minimum of six years experience in economic modeling and/or large datasets for delivering insights to clients.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Familiarity with statistical analysis programs E‑Views (ideally), R, Stata and Python. Efficient use of internal AI agents for research.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships across diverse project stakeholders, both external and internal. Intellectual curiosity, openness to collaboration and a resilient attitude. Self‑organized and capable of prioritizing work to meet competing deadlines.
  • Fluent Arabic preferred, not essential.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in managing complex projects and client relationships.
  • Strong coding and data skills to drive efficiency in business processes.
  • Experience in international trade and investment strategies.
  • Ability to work across time zones and nurture client relationships globally.
