A leading hospitality company is seeking a Cook to prepare and cook food according to established recipes and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in food preparation and a relevant technical degree. This role involves maintaining food logs, ensuring food quality, and assisting management with team training and development.
POSITION SUMMARY
Prepare special meals or substitute items. Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters. Thaw food from freezer storage in the refrigerator. Ensure proper portioning and food garnishing. Maintain food logs. Monitor the quality and quantity of prepared food. Communicate assistance needs during busy periods. Inform the Chef of excess food items for use in daily specials. Notify Food & Beverage staff of menu specials and out-of-stock items. Ensure the quality of food items. Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and checklists. Prepare cold foods.
Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees; serve as a role model. Follow all company, safety, and security policies; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions; complete safety training and certifications. Maintain a professional appearance and confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets. Anticipate and address guests' service needs. Communicate clearly and professionally. Develop positive working relationships; support team goals; listen and respond to colleagues' concerns. Adhere to quality standards. Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods. Reach overhead and below knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance. Perform other duties as requested by supervisors.
