About Deloitte Africa Tax & Legal

We work with some of the world’s largest global organisations across every industry to take on critical business and social issues. Our 700+ Africa Tax & Legal professionals are highly specialised lawyers, accountants and tax professionals, with technical skills and expertise to deliver our fully integrated offerings, technologists advising businesses on the automation of key tax and legal processes, consultants helping tax and mobility leaders to identify ways that they can increase their production efficiency by using digital tools and new working methods, as well as legal advisors who support clients with a full spectrum of their businesses’ legal requirements.

Main Purpose

To support Engagement Manager in delivery of services to / at client premises on delegated engagement / project.

Key Responsibilities:

Compliance and Reporting

• Prepares or reviews corporate income tax returns
• Conducts research on tax regimes in local and other tax jurisdictions in which clients operate

Tax Advisory and Consulting

• Researches and prepares draft client reports under the guidance of senior staff and project management

Tax Accounting

• Prepares tax provisions using technical skills to accurately complete calculations and follow Firm policies and procedures
• Assists with tax accrual reviews on audit clients

Tax Controversy Management

• Researches tax authority audit/appeals process and prepares draft reports to be presented before the tax authorities in tax audits/administrative appeals

Minimum Qualifications

BCom (Accounting) or BCom (Accounting Honours) or BCom (Accounting) Honours in Taxation
