The VP – Payment Analytics (people manager) is a role within the India Analytics Hub (IAH), operating under the Decision Management vertical. The desired employee is expected to work hands-on and lead a high-performing analytics team dedicated to delivering comprehensive, end-to-end payment analytics across all products, channels (both digital and non-digital), and features, across multiple functions.
Focused on understanding the Enterprise payment process across customer payment journeys, assessing existing data availability, and collaborating closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, operations, and data engineers to capture and integrate any missing payment data. The VP will establish robust reporting frameworks on the Wing-to-Wing payment lifecycle, delivering strategic insights and actionable recommendations to optimize the payment experience.
The position is remote, where you have the option to work from home.
Develop and execute a clear, actionable, and time-bound analytics roadmap, outlining key milestones, resources, and timelines to achieve payment analytics objectives.
Lead the design and delivery of comprehensive analytics across all payment channels, products, and features, providing end-to-end visibility into the payment lifecycle.
Identify, assess, and bridge data gaps by collaborating with business, technology, operations, and data engineering teams to ensure complete, accurate, and timely payment data capture.
Translate complex payment data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations that optimize the payment process, improve customer experience, and drive business growth.
Partner closely with Tech & Ops Payments, Product Analytics, Payment Train, Customer Experience, and other key stakeholders to embed analytics into decision-making at all levels.
Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing analytics team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships across teams to effectively communicate analytics value and drive enterprise-wide adoption.
Support regulatory review and governance
Promote advanced analytics practices, including proof-of-concept initiatives, to keep the organization at the forefront of payment analytics capabilities.
Lead internal initiatives, perform other duties and/or special projects, as assigned
Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or any other quantitative streams with 10+ years of hands-on relevant analytics/data science experience, or in lieu of a degree 12+ years of relevant analytics/data science experience.
8+ years of hands-on Experience in SQL /SAS with proven ability to leverage advanced algorithms and be efficient in handling complex/large data;
3+ years of experience in BI tools, e.g. Tableau etc.
5+ years of experience in managing teams with ability to motivate team, drive change, create a culture of learning, innovation and recognition
Ability to solve complex technical and people-oriented problems with minimal supervision
Advanced proficiency in MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint with superior data analyses and story boarding skills
Strongwritten/oralcommunication& stakeholder management skills
Hands-on experience with web analytics platforms such as Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, or similar tools to analyze digital payment behaviors and customer journeys.
Superior thought leadership and framework based solutioning abilities
Experience in storytelling, presenting to senior leaders with strong communication skills
Innovative mindset that looks to improve current capabilities and discover new ones
Passion for exploring and applying new analytics tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance analytics capabilities and business impact.
Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or any other quantitative streams with 10+ years of hands-on relevant analytics/data science experience, or in lieu of a degree 12+ years of relevant analytics/data science experience.
2PM - 11PM IST
This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs.

Our way of working allows you the option to work from home or workspaces in our Regional Engagement Hubs—Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Pune, Kolkata, or Delhi/NCR. As directed by the management, you will be required to commute or travel to Hyderabad or one of the Regional Engagement Hubs for in-person engagement activities such as business/ team meetings, trainings, and events
