Location: Northern, Newcastle, KwaZulu Natal, South Africa


GRADE: TPO • SALARY: R23,052 per annum • ROLE TYPE: On‑site • HOURS: 35 per week


Ready to roll up your sleeves and keep our TrainCare Centre in top condition. We’re looking for a motivated and hardworking Cleaner to join our dynamic team and play a key role in shaping a cleaner, more connected future for rail travel. Picture yourself making an impact by ensuring our centers operate at the highest standards – from maintaining spotless facilities to supporting our train cleaning teams, you’ll be at the heart of delivering exceptional service for our customers.


Responsibilities


  • Making a Difference: Carry out external cleaning of Northern Trains on the depot ensuring they meet the high standards our customers and stakeholders expect.

  • Being Hands‑On: Use high‑pressure equipment to clean train components and assist skilled tradespeople with maintenance tasks on trains.

  • Thriving Outdoors: Maintain the depot’s upkeep including tidying walkways, cutting grass, trimming trees and performing other groundwork tasks all while working outdoors in varied weather conditions.

  • Delivering Excellence: Handle fueling, tanking and CET duties for arriving trains and contribute to a clean, safe and presentable environment.

  • Being a Team Player: Collaborate with colleagues to meet shared goals following instructions and ensuring high standards are consistently maintained.
