Overview

Our client, a well-established and progressive steel fabrication company based in Paarl, seeks to employ a qualified Toolmaker / Tool & Jig Maker to join their professional and expanding production team.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, manufacture, modification, and maintenance of tools, jigs, fixtures, and gauges to support efficient and accurate fabrication and manufacturing processes.

Key requirements to meet for consideration
  • You will have a Trade Test as a Toolmaker / Jig and Die Maker, coupled with 5 years proven experience in a steel fabrication or steel works manufacturing environment.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Hands-on experience with manual machining equipment (lathes, milling machines, grinders, drilling machines); CNC exposure advantageous
  • Solid understanding of steel materials, tolerances, and fabrication processes
  • Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to quality and safety standards
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Ability to work shifts is essential
  • You must have a valid driver’s licence, own reliable transport, and a clear criminal and credit record.
