Job summary

A leading chemical sales company in Johannesburg seeks a Sales Representative to distribute specialty and commodity chemical raw materials. The ideal candidate must possess a tertiary qualification in chemistry and have at least 2 years of sales experience in related fields. Responsibilities include maintaining customer relations, developing new business opportunities, and providing technical support. This role requires an energetic and entrepreneurial spirit.

Qualifications

  • Experience in paint, coatings, or industrial applications required.
  • Experience in production or laboratory preferred.

Minimum requirements for the role
  • Must have a relevant tertiary qualification in chemistry or similar
  • Minimum 2 years previous sales experience in raw materials
  • Previous experience in paint and coatings or other industrial applications is required
  • Must be an energetic, entrepreneurial and incentive driven candidate
  • Previous experience in production or the laboratory is advantageous
The successful candidate will be responsible for
  • Distributing speciality and commodity chemical raw materials.
  • Maintaining the existing customer base and identifying new opportunities.
  • Developing and expanding all market segments.
  • Creating and submitting offers, including taking responsibility for pricing.
  • Independently processing customer inquiries, including handling complaints.
  • Providing technical advice to customers on the development of formulations, including arranging appropriate sampling.
  • Analyzing markets in terms of customers, products, competitors, and application markets.
  • Maintaining reports and documenting in the CRM system.
  • Taking responsibility for budget and requirements planning.
  • Collaborating and participating in trade fairs and customer seminars as technical insight days.
  • Managing stock and working closely with Principal Managers to ensure optimal stock holding.
