Job summary

A leading FMCG company is seeking an experienced Technical Head based in Richards Bay, South Africa. The role involves developing and implementing technical strategies to ensure robust and reliable plant operations. Key responsibilities include managing projects, formulating budgets, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. Candidates should have a BTech, BSc, or BEng degree in Chemical Engineering and a minimum of 8 years' production plant experience.

Qualifications

  • 8 years' production plant experience.
  • Working experience in maintenance of health, safety and environmental processes.
  • Working experience in management of multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Stay abreast of technological advancements in the industry.
  • Formulate strategies for improvement of technical equipment and processes.
  • Compile and monitor policies and procedures.
  • Develop project plans and manage implementation.
  • Formulate budgets and ensure compliance with them.
  • Oversee negotiation and administration of contracts.
  • Establish and embed quality control and food safety standards.
  • Manage inspections, audits, and record-keeping processes.
  • Identify and maintain a talent pool for plant production.
