Purpose of the role
To lead and deliver strategic HR projects that enable organisational transformation, workforce optimisation, and people innovation. The incumbent will operate at a senior professional level, coordinating cross‑functional initiatives, driving strategic alignment, and ensuring high‑impact delivery across the HR portfolio. This includes Board‑level reporting, leadership engagement, and project governance in a dynamic business environment.
Key Deliverables
Strategic Project Management
- Lead cross‑functional HR projects from initiation to completion (e.g., HRIS implementation, EVP rollout, workforce planning).
- Develop project charters, timelines, budgets, and risk mitigation plans.
- Track and report on project milestones and KPIs.
Board & Executive Reporting
- Coordinate, prepare, and collate high‑quality HR presentations and reports for Board and Board subcommittees.
- Translate complex HR data and insights into compelling narratives for executive audiences.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and strategic relevance of all Board‑facing materials.
HR Leadership Team Coordination
- Drive the monthly HR Leadership Team meetings, including agenda setting, documentation, and tracking of decisions and actions.
- Facilitate alignment across HR Centres of Excellence and Business Partners.
Change Management & Organisational Development
- Lead change initiatives that support culture transformation, restructuring, and capability building.
- Partner with senior leaders to embed change and measure impact.
Digital HR & Analytics
- Support the implementation and optimisation of digital HR tools and platforms.
- Leverage data analytics to inform decision‑making and track project ROI.
Governance, Compliance & Risk
- Ensure all HR projects and initiatives comply with labour legislation, BBBEE, and industry‑specific regulations.
- Prepare documentation for audits, risk reviews, and governance forums.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including unions, consultants, and senior executives.
- Ensure transparent communication and alignment across all levels of the organisation.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Industrial Psychology, Business Administration, or related field.
- Project Management certification will be advantageous.
- Postgraduate qualification in HR, Strategy, or Business Leadership is advantageous.
- 510 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a strategic project or programme management role.
- Experience working at or reporting to executive and Board levels.
- Exposure to the poultry, agriculture, FMCG, or manufacturing sectors is preferred.
Technical Skills & Competencies
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and HRIS platforms.
- Strong understanding of South African labour legislation and HR governance.
- Familiarity with data visualisation and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Strategic Thinking – Ability to connect HR initiatives to broader business goals.
- Storytelling & Executive Communication – Skilled in crafting compelling, insight‑driven presentations for Board and senior leadership.
- Project & Programme Management – Strong planning, execution, and governance capabilities.
- Organisational Skills – High attention to detail, time management, and coordination.

Salary – R900 – R1.2 mill pa CTC
