Qualifications

Job description
Overview

A position has become available for a committed individual to join Life Groenkloof Hospital as a Switchboard Operator, reporting to the Admissions Supervisor. The successful candidate will contribute to the effective management of the telephone service of the Hospital.


Responsibilities


  • Answering the switchboard

  • Updating the telephone lists

  • Direct calls to the right department

  • Assist wards and Doctors with faulty telephones/lines

  • Assist Admission staff with admission duties where possible

  • Any other duties or tasks that may arise during the normal course of the day

  • Updating speed dials on switchboard

  • Assist internal and external customers with queries


Qualifications


  • Grade 12 and at least 2 years’ hospital experience

  • Experience in customer care will be advantageous

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with good relations with doctors, hospital staff and suppliers

  • Strong customer orientation

  • Team player

  • Very energetic and well organized

  • Must be able to work under pressure in a constantly changing environment

  • Computer literacy is required

  • Excellent written and verbal communication
