Electrical Design Engineer (Electrical Engineer, Senior) is a role at Redwire Space located in our new facility in Georgetown, IN, focusing on designing, building, and testing space-based electronics for a variety of projects.

Redwire Space Technologies is a leading provider of in‑space manufacturing technologies across biology, materials science and pharmaceuticals. Responsibilities
  • Design, build and test space‑based electronics for multiple projects.
  • Develop electronic circuit layouts using ECAD software.
  • Design VAC and VDC analog circuits up to V, including sensors and ADC / DAC interfaces.
  • Create digital circuits with microcontrollers and high‑speed communication (I2C, CAN, RS‑232, RS‑485, USB, Ethernet).
  • Engineer electromechanical systems (stepper motors, DC motors, solenoids, pumps, sensors, switches) and apply control system principles.
  • Design for high‑reliability and EMI‑sensitive environments; maintain compliance with EMI / EMC / ESD standards.
  • Validate designs through simulation, mathematics, and prototype testing.
  • Collaborate technically with customers, product and project managers.
  • Prepare documentation for design reviews, verifications and presentations.
  • Conduct reviews, meetings and technical presentations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience designing electronic circuits using ECAD tools.
  • PCB layout experience.
  • Proficiency in Spice‑based simulation.
  • Experience working with software, mechanical and manufacturing / procurement teams.
  • Two successful product releases.
  • Experience designing for commercial or space applications.
  • Familiarity with Diptrace, Altium, or KiCad.
