The Specialist: Advanced Analytics plays a critical role in driving data-driven decision making within the Base Growth and Analytics department.

This position focuses on leveraging advanced analytics to enhance Customer Value Management (CVM) strategies, optimise personalised propositions, and improve the effectiveness of below-the-line campaigns.

By analysing customer behaviour and market trends, the role contributes to identifying and fulfilling customer needs, ensuring the delivery of impactful and scalable offerings that create mutual value.

This is a highly influential role with direct impact on how millions of customers engage with the company's products and services daily.

Main Responsibilities
Support Advanced Analytics Initiatives
  • Assist Senior Analysts with defining the framework for performance monitoring and metrics to measure the impact for all product offerings with the appropriate cadence and frequency.
  • Contribute to defining and implementing the personalised product strategy and roadmap through specialised expertise and insight to ensure that the strategy meets business needs.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure you build relevant solutions for our customer base.
  • Contribute to executing the CVM strategy from an analytics perspective.
  • Champion an innovation strategy within the innovation road map, ensuring the right resources are in place to execute on the strategy.
  • Assist in driving the advanced analytics function within the Base Growth team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop data-driven solutions that enhance customer value and business performance.
Performance Monitoring & Impact Measurement
  • Incorporate predictive forecasting to enhance performance management and maintain models to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Deliver daily and monthly insights from data exploration to support commercial action and financial steering.
  • Conduct analysis to understand client's business, determine and prioritise client needs and identify opportunities for business enhancement.
  • To identify and satisfy customer needs and deliver compelling offerings that creates mutual benefit, at scale.
  • Analyse and evaluate the feasibility and relevance of proposed complex products and services-and develop and amend as necessary with guidelines from the Executive.
  • Support and guidance on the preparation and exploration of client data including statistical analyses.
  • Assist with analytical and data science modelling for specific client requirements.
  • Carry out analytical and statistical exercises such as customer segmentation analysis, customer propositions (such as campaigns, promotions, interventions, etc.) investigations, etc.
  • Assist with the scoping, planning, development, and delivery of dashboards – internally to Cell C and externally with clients.
  • Implement and maintain a structured framework for monitoring product performance.
  • Ensure timely and accurate impact measurement for all allocated products, providing insights at the appropriate cadence and frequency.
Predictive Modelling & Forecasting
  • Assist with incorporating new technologies such as machine learning and robotics to increase process efficiencies.
  • Assist with enhancing predictive forecasting and improve quality of insights.
  • Contribute to the development of annual and longer-term business plans, forecast performance against business key performance indicators KPI.
  • Assist with developing business cases for key activities / projects.
  • Assist Senior analytics with developing straight forward business cases or lead feasibility and assessment work for proposed and current projects to support the development and contributions review of business cases.
  • Proactively support the sales process and delivery of projects.Contribute to business development as well as suggest new service offerings.
  • Collaborate internally within Cell C and externally with partners to derive suitable solutions to identified opportunities.
  • Develop and refine predictive models to support business decision-making and performance management.
  • Maintain forecasting models to improve accuracy and optimise resource allocation.
Data Insights & Commercial Support
  • Conduct data exploration and provide actionable insights to support commercial strategy and financial steering.
  • Deliver daily and monthly reports that highlight key trends and opportunities for business growth.
Innovation & Process Optimization
  • Leverage emerging technologies such as machine learning and robotic process automation to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Continuously identify and implement improvements to forecasting, analytics, and reporting processes.
Qualifications
  • A 3-year degree in Actuarial Science, Economics, Business Science.
  • Honours in Actuarial Science, Economics, Business Science, Engineering (advantageous).
Experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in a commercially focussed role in either Retail Banking, Financial Services, Telecoms, E-commerce or similar.
  • Expertise in data manipulation: use of structured data tools (e.g. SQL), & unstructured data tools and platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, NoSQL).
  • Expertise in major statistical modelling software packages (e.g., R, SAS, Python) and multivariate techniques (e.g. k-means segmentation, multiple regression, factor analysis, time-series forecasting).
  • Experience building brand new products or working in a start-up environment.
  • Experience working with personalised marketing technology.
  • Analytics or similar experience.
  • Experience in Telecommunications industry (desired).
