Job description

Our client is currently seeking the skills of a Solar Electrical Engineer to be based in Ballito.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Solar Engineer will be responsible for managing tenders/quotes in conjunction with the sales team, utilising analytical skills to write proposals, communicating effectively with stakeholders, handling procurement tasks and project management. A keen troubleshooting and analytical mind is needed.

Qualifications

Engineering Degree/BTech

Criteria

• Experience with tenders/quotes/installations over 1MW a must. (ideally over 5MW)
• Experience with large battery based systems required
• Experience with system commissioning and trouble shooting required
• Must be able to design and spec a system, compile BOQ, create SLD's and system document packs and complete tender document packs.
• Design experience on Helioscope or similar
• SSEG applications with Eskom and municipalities
• Project management experience in the solar industry ideal
• Proposal Writing abilities
• PR Tech minimum requirement. PR Eng ideal
• Must be highly competent with Excel
• Willing to travel when necessary - valid passport and drivers license needed
• Good troubleshooting and technical abilities
• Experience with hybrid systems
• Exp on SCADA/PLC a bonus
