Overall purpose of the role

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect with strong expertise in Snowflake to lead the design, development, and optimization of our cloud data architecture.

This role will be responsible for ensuring data is accessible, secure, scalable, and aligned with business goals.

The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of data modeling, cloud data platforms, and modern data warehousing strategies, with a proven track record of delivering enterprise‑grade data solutions.

Duties & Responsibilities

Design and implement scalable data architectures using Snowflake.

Develop and maintain enterprise data models (conceptual, logical, and physical).

Lead the migration of legacy data systems to cloud‑based solutions, particularly Snowflake.

Define and enforce data governance, data quality, and data security policies.

Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements.

Optimize Snowflake performance (storage, compute, cost).

Implement data integration strategies using ETL / ELT tools (e.g., dbt, Informatica, Matillion, Fivetran).

Create and maintain documentation related to data architecture, standards, and best practices.

Mentor team members and provide technical leadership in data architecture and Snowflake usage.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Snowflake certification (SnowPro Core or Advanced Architect).

Experience with dbt, Airflow, Fivetran, or similar tools.

Familiarity with DataOps or CI / CD pipelines for data infrastructure.

Experience in Agile or DevOps environments.

Exposure to BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in data architecture roles 2+ years of hands‑on experience with Snowflake.

Strong experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), especially Snowflake deployments.

Proficiency in SQL, data modeling (Dimensional, Star / Snowflake schema), and data warehousing concepts.

Knowledge of ETL / ELT tools and orchestration frameworks.

Experience with data pipeline design, real-time and batch processing.

Familiarity with data governance frameworks (e.g., data catalogues, lineage tools).

Strong understanding of security and compliance in cloud data environments (e.g., RBAC, masking, encryption).
