A service-oriented company in Gauteng, South Africa is seeking a Service Sales Supporter to facilitate customer and company conversions. This role focuses on managing complex parts business, liaising with customers, and ensuring timely project execution. The ideal candidate should possess strong planning, facilitator, and analytical skills, be proficient in project management, and have a solid understanding of parts management processes.
Service Sales Supporter Reports to : Head of Service (BC Service Manager)
Purpose of Position :
To facilitate and be the main conduit for conversions between the Customer and the company.
This position is put in place to create and ensure a proactive approach to solving problems around part redundancies, complex supersessions & customer requested additional Formats
For the purposes of this Job Description the term "Conversions" shall cover :
Machine / Line modernizations
Machine / Line upgrades
Format Changes, i.e. Customer requests for new products / services but excluding normal spare parts business
Customer Gmb H Machine / Line related Service Products but excluding traditional service interventions
Customer Gmb H Machine / Line related consumable products Main Interactions Customers :
Proactively push for lists of parts no longer supported
Notification of parts no longer supported with solutions costed
Liaise with respect to key dates in the supply chain
Manage requisite information flow between the right shareholders at company and customer
Do the costing on the system and supply customers with the necessary invoices / costing according to the system
Attend necessary conversion related meetings at customer sites
Where required, manage the conversion projects at customer sites.
Attend SPP meetings where required, at the Customer sites.
Service Products Sales Manager :
Daily Feedback regarding progress on various conversions / projects
Get guidance when project needs escalating
Work with the Manager to expedite orders Technical Plant & Machine
Needs to be able to identify the basic machines and have a good process understanding
Main thing is to be able to ask and pull in the right people / specialists where and when required; i.e. assemble a multi-disciplinary team when needed Parts & Parts Management
Be able to interrogate BOMs of machine park to search for successions
Be fluent with Parts ordering, forwarding, freight & clearing process in order to be able to successfully expedite Competencies :
Planning Skills-Must be well organized and methodical to ensure all the necessary steps in the process of offering, securing, procuring, delivery of a project are meticulously completed
Facilitator Skills-Must be able to run meetings and discussion groups.
Must have the ability to draw in the necessary specialists when required
Analytical Skills-Must be able to interrogate the database with respect to : BOMs (Bills of Material), Identification of obsolete parts, Dead machines
Configuration Management-update System with respect to : Equipment changes, Equipment de-commissioning , Equipment redeployment, Supersessions
Project Management : Proactively manage key deadlines and adjust in real-time to enable timeous interventions should the required windows for project execution not be realized.
This prevents last minute delays and therefore saves everyone costs.
Communicate progress and record it accordingly onto MS Project to also track costs in real-time.
Manage snag-lists, give regular feedback on closing progress and estimated completion dates.
Put forward a project plan and key dates with each proposal.
This must also take into
