A leading automotive service provider in Polokwane is looking for a Service Foreman to manage a multi‑brand workshop. The ideal candidate will lead a team of technicians, ensuring high-quality workmanship and efficiency while mentoring apprentices. You should have 3+ years of experience in a dealership environment and hold a valid Trade Test Certificate. This role offers a competitive salary and opportunities to work with advanced automotive technology.
Service Foreman (Multi-Franchise)
Brands: Nissan, GWM / Haval, Renault, GAC
Department: Service / Workshop
Reports to: Service Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time
We are seeking a technically expert and highly organized Service Foreman to lead our multi‑brand workshop.
This is a critical role requiring a leader who can manage the technical complexity of four distinct manufacturers (Nissan, GWM / Haval, Renault, and GAC) simultaneously. The successful candidate will act as the technical backbone of the dealership, ensuring workshop efficiency, high‑quality workmanship, and the mentorship of technicians and apprentices.
You will bridge the gap between the service advisors and the workshop floor, ensuring "Right First Time" repairs.
Workflow Control: Efficiently allocate job cards to technicians based on their skill level and the specific brand requirements (e.g., assigning EV repairs to certified technicians).
Efficiency Targets: Drive workshop productivity and efficiency to meet daily hours‑sold targets.
WIP Management: Monitor Work in Progress (WIP) daily to ensure vehicles are completed on time and carry‑overs are minimized.
Complex Diagnostics: Assist technicians with difficult diagnostic problems, particularly on electronic systems and new models across the Nissan, Renault, GWM, and GAC lineups.
Quality Assurance: Perform road tests and final Quality Checks (QC) on completed vehicles to prevent "comebacks" and ensure safety standards.
Warranty Compliance: Ensure all warranty parts retention, clocking procedures, and write‑ups strictly adhere to the differing policies of all four OEMs.
Mentorship: Guide apprentices and junior technicians, helping them prepare for their own trade tests.
Discipline: Maintain discipline and housekeeping standards (5S) within the workshop environment.
Training: Ensure the team keeps up to date with the latest technical bulletins and manufacturer training modules for all four brands.
