Main Purpose of Job
The Senior Procurement Officer will be responsible for the centralized procurement of all marketing materials and head office supplies for the company. This role will work closely with various Heads of Departments to understand their procurement needs, ensure the best pricing for the materials required, and negotiate optimal contracts. The position requires excellent negotiation skills, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and a strong understanding of procurement processes in commercial part of the business (not industrial procurement or manufacturing).
Key Performance Areas
- Centralized Procurement Management: Oversee the procurement of marketing materials, office supplies, and other general items required for head office functions. Ensure all procurement activities are aligned with company policies and procedures.
 
- Liaison with Departments: Act as the primary point of contact for all Heads of Departments regarding their procurement needs. Provide support in identifying material requirements and ensuring that procurement solutions meet departmental objectives and timelines.
 
- Quote Management & Supplier Negotiation: Solicit and evaluate three quotes for comparable pricing and ensure that procurement decisions are cost‑effective. Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best possible pricing, terms, and conditions for the organization, while maintaining quality and delivery timelines.
 
- Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure continuity of supply, quality assurance, and competitive pricing. Monitor supplier performance and resolve any supply‑related issues promptly.
 
- Market Research & Vendor Management: Continuously monitor the supplier market for trends, new products, and pricing shifts. Ensure vendor compliance with the company’s procurement policies and ethical standards.
 
- Contract Management: Ensure that contracts are clear, legally binding, and aligned with company policies. Monitor contract performance and renewals and ensure all contracts are adhered to.
 
Minimum Requirements
- A relevant qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration (e.g., CIPS certification or equivalent).
 
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a commercial procurement role, preferably within the pharmaceutical, FMCG, food, or consumer goods industries.
