Job description

A medium-sized consulting company with offices across South Africa is looking for a Senior/Lead Water Engineer.

Minimum Requirements

• BEng/BSc in Civil Engineering with preferably a Masters degree in water and sanitation services.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
• Minimum of 10 years experience in the water and sanitation field as a consulting engineer.

Additional Qualifications (advantageous)

• Knowledge of FIDIC / NEC / JCC.
• Active member in CESA/SAICE/WISA.
• NQF7 (labour‑based construction).
• Pr CPM.
• PMP.

Experience and Responsibilities

• Municipal project experience in the evaluation, planning, design and construction of water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, water reticulation, sewer reticulation, bulk pipelines, canals and storm water management.
• Hydrology and determination of flood lines.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, iDAS and HEC‑RAS.
• Preparation of construction tenders and contracts.
• Experience as a Technical Advisor in PPP projects.
• Previous experience working with international funding agencies such as EU, World Bank, Asian Development Bank, EBRD and/or NGOs.
