We are seeking a Field Service Technician - Grinding to join our FSE Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for, but is not limited to, the use of Field Service Systems such as FSM, FSE related Apps and ensuring that customer specific requirements are fulfilled by identifying the correct resources and planning the safe and timely execution of field service tasks in the most cost‑efficient manner in the FSM system under the guidance of the field service leadership team.
In this position, you will report to FS Supervisor, FS Manager, Field Service Operations.
This position is mainly located in Alrode, Gauteng.
Team You Belong To
You will join the FSE Team and work closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as Customers, FS Management, Other Field Service Team Members including Technicians and Contractors, FSE Site Contract Managers, Sub‑Contractors and Service Coordinators.
What You Will Do
- Action and manage customer service requests, enquiries, and site activities as and when they arise
- Site mobilization including inductions, medicals, flight tickets, visas/work permits and site access
- Scheduling, planning & travel logistics of teams identified for site work, plan and manage own work schedules
- Review maintenance requirements on scope of work and secure / confirm availability of manpower, materials stored on site, wear and spare parts requirements
- Safe execution of FS site activities on site
- Submitting weekly timesheet entries of own hours
- Ensure Field Service Management (FSM) work orders are completed as per Metso processes and procedures, service report finalization within 7 days after completion of site work
- Compliance with Metso field service processes and procedures
- Support and maintain utilisation and safety reporting process
- Be a customer contact for field service team
- Follow up on spares / services required for field service jobs
- Establish the scope of FS work with customers
- Be proactive in ensuring that all costs are collected in a timely manner prior to job closing and invoicing
- Other tasks as assigned by Service Operations Manager
Who You Are
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Minimum 3‑5 years of experience in heavy industry, preferably with grinding mills, inspections, maintenance and resource planning
- Experience with planning and maintenance execution in a field service environment
- Experience with working in a customer‑focused and fast‑paced professional field service environment
