The Role: Senior EICA Design Engineer

As a Senior EICA Design Engineer, you will lead the design and coordination of Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation systems on major water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This is a key technical role within a multidisciplinary team, focused on delivering safe, compliant, and cost-effective design solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Lead EICA design tasks on major water/wastewater projects.

Manage and coordinate multi-discipline design interfaces.

Interpret and challenge client specifications and project requirements.

Develop detailed design deliverables including equipment specs, load/cable schedules, SLDs, loop diagrams, and control system architectures.

Support process engineers with P&ID development and control philosophy documentation.

Conduct technical reviews, bid evaluations, and support procurement and installation teams.

Ensure compliance with relevant UK water industry standards and safety regulations.

Drive design risk assessment processes and health & safety considerations.

Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in technical design.

Collaborate with UK and South African teams on delivery, ensuring communication and quality.

About You

Minimum 7 years experience in EICA engineering within the water/wastewater sector.

ECSA registration (Pr Eng/Pr Tech or Candidate).

BTech or BSc in an EICA-related engineering discipline.

Strong knowledge of water and wastewater treatment and pumping systems.

Proficient in design tools including ElectricalOM, CAD software, and Microsoft Office.

Familiarity with UK water industry standards and QA processes.

Effective communicator with experience working in collaborative, cross-border teams.

Ability to lead, mentor, and drive innovation in a dynamic engineering environment.
