SUMMARY :

Senior Draughtsman - KZN

POSITION INFO :

• Excellent Autodesk suit of products experience – Autocad, Inventor, Revit, Plant 3D
• Ability to perform 3D scanning, render the pointcloud and develop detailed models
• Ability to transfer knowledge to others, specifically on the Autodesk
• Setup drawing office management systems
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain positive client relationships.

National Diploma or Certificate in Draughting, Engineering, or related field.

Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, Inventor, etc.), BIM systems, and 3D modelling / visualisation tools.

Eagerness to learn and develop technical drafting skills.

Strong attention to detail and organisational ability.

Ability to interpret technical drawings (training can be provided).

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Basic understanding of South African building codes / standards (advantageous).

Experience

3–5 years in a digital drawing / engineering environment.

Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain positive client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop 2D / 3D models using CAD / BIM software.
• Perform BIM co-ordination role
• Produce detailed assembly models and fabrication / shop drawings.
• Run 3D visualisations / simulations (clash detection, stress testing, rendering).
• Collaborate via digital design platforms and version control systems.
• Update designs promptly and issue revised drawing sets electronically.
• Set up and maintain drawing libraries, templates, and CAD standards – Autodesk Docs experience will be advantageous.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, and project managers using integrated models.
• Provide light design input where required.
