Senior Contracts Manager

Redheads Engineering Solutions is currently recruiting four Senior Contracts Managers to oversee and manage projects from inception to completion.

As a Senior Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for planning, budgeting, decision-making, and ensuring that projects align with proposed budgets while adhering to deadlines.

The role involves overseeing company operations to achieve profitability, quality, safety, efficiency, and sustainability.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage, and develop technical staff to ensure smooth business operations.
  • Provide accurate and timely resources and assets to assist with project implementation.
  • Establish and manage budgets, control expenditures, and ensure efficient use of resources and assets.
  • Analyze complex resources management issues, initiatives, and prepare stakeholder reports.
  • Encourage innovation, cost-effective working methods, and introduce new systems to improve efficiency.
  • Approve costs, including invoices, purchase orders, and final payments spreadsheets.
  • Coordinate weekly activities, such as meetings, procurement, revenue and cost monitoring, and site visits.
  • Direct and oversee all aspects of construction projects, ensuring completion on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with the SHEQ Manager in developing and enforcing safety standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure required tests are undertaken in a timely manner (Quality Assurance).
  • Advise the Operations Director on Civils Related Contractual and Technical matters.
  • Ensure correct commercial engagement of subcontractors (rates, contracts agreement).
  • Complete and distribute the contract initiation / completion certificate for each project.
  • Ensure weekly review of progress and budget resources, forwarding planning to the Operations Director.
  • Chair and attend internal and external meetings, ensuring accurate records of discussions and actions.
  • Ensure timely management of both temporary and permanent designs to meet project requirements.

Desired Experience & Qualification
Education and Formal Training
  • Matric
  • BSc / BTech in Civil Engineering
  • Project Management qualification will be an added advantage.
Work Experience
  • Minimum of 8+ years' experience in the civil engineering and construction industry.
  • Minimum of 8+ years' experience in a commercial environment.
Job-Related Requirements
  • Must be registered as a Professional Construction Manager with the SACPCMP or Professional Civil Engineering Technician / Technologist / Engineer with ECSA.
  • Contractual knowledge, GCC, NEC, or JBCC.
  • Vast knowledge of forms of contracts.
  • Extensive experience in safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of labor laws and regulations.
