Job Advert Summary
To review and analyse business rules and requirements for technical systems, this role ensures quality solutions are delivered through statistical tracking, workflow analysis, and functional specifications. It also involves developing business cases, delivering process or technology solutions, and leading business process mapping and improvement initiatives aligned with Business Process Management.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) in Information Systems
- BCom Honours in Business Sciences with specialisation in Investment Management of Computer Science (preferred)
- Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Agile Certification or other Agile development training
Experience
- 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst within the Financial Industry
- Project Management experience (preferred)
- Experience in the implementation of correspondence engine components and amendment to correspondence artefacts
- Experience as a lead Business Analyst on multi-discipline software development teams
- Experience in participating in complex multi-team delivery models
- Detailed experience in understanding business incidents, change and priority management
Knowledge and Skills
- In-depth knowledge of the full end-to-end services, systems and processes
- Understanding of systems interactions within the context of business process delivery (i.e. workflow system, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Business Process Management (BPM), batch systems and data warehousing)
- Knowledge and ability to apply Business Architecture and Business Process Management principles
- Proven knowledge of general business principles and practices, including financial and people management in a matrix structure
- In-depth knowledge of Process Management
- Proficient knowledge in implementing business methodologies including problem management/incident resolution
- Understanding of Systems development Life Cycles
- Ability to implement and improve the competence of Business Analysis within Business Engagement
- Ability to lead and guide the completion of Business Analysis Artefacts, participate in the formulation of flexible Solution Designs, and produce quality documentation

Duties and Responsibilities
- Collect, understand, and translate business requirements into functional specifications and detailed test plans, supplemented with functional, non-functional, and technical specifications documented as solution acceptance criteria
- Produce high-quality business and technical documentation—including use cases, activity diagrams, sequencing diagrams, entity relationship diagrams, and deployment diagrams—while guiding the completion of Business Analysis artefacts and contributing to flexible solution designs
- Act as the liaison between clients, development teams, and third parties throughout the development lifecycle, while constructively engaging with business stakeholders to ensure customer requirements are understood and addressed with innovative thinking
- Drive operational efficiency by developing interface capabilities with third-party vendors, workflow tools, and new in-house systems, and maintain Business Process Management standards and procedures
- Assess the impact of legislative and regulatory changes on business processes and systems, and develop and present operational service metrics that explain business impact and risk
- Enhance client, business, and Management Information System (MIS) reports, and support the development of new reporting tools to meet evolving business needs
