The Role

Subtech South Africa is currently seeking a meticulous and highly experienced Bookkeeper to play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial records, ensuring smooth and efficient financial operations.

Principle Accountabilities

• Accurately process internal and external debtor invoices, ensuring timely and efficient billing
• Review and verify creditor payments to maintain financial accuracy and compliance
• Maintain and update the fixed asset register, including wear and tear adjustments, to reflect current asset values
• Prepare and post monthly journal entries to support accurate financial reporting
• Compile and reconcile financial statements and accounts to ensure consistency and correctness
• Assist in the preparation and coordination of year-end audit activities, providing necessary documentation and support
• Contribute to the budgeting and forecasting process by providing relevant financial data and insights

Qualifications and Experience

• Matric certificate
• Accounting/Finance qualifications
• Proven expertise in bookkeeping, with a strong track record of managing financial records accurately and efficiently
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for day-to-day financial tasks
• Experience with BuildSmart software is advantageous
• Strong numerical reasoning and analytical thinking
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple deadlines
• A strong level of English, both written and verbal
• Sound organisational skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
• Proactive problem-solver with a logical and methodical approach
